You might want to also consider the Cal 2-27 and 3-27 (I have a 2-27). Their build quality is on a par with Ericson. Ericsons were built with quite a bit more wood in the interior, making them a nicer looking boat on the inside. The Cals were a bit more Spartan than the Ericson 27, but also a bit faster than either the Ericson 27 or the Catalina 27.

Never forget them. Do something to prevent it from happening again.
