The Dyer Dhow is a good boat. Unfortunately it is worse than the Suncatcher and not as versatile.

To get a better Dyer than a Suncatcher you have to move up from the 9' Dhow to the 12 1/2' Dyer Daysailer. This boat can be cat rigged or sloop rigged with a jib and can use a spinnaker. However, at 220 lbs it is much more difficult to right after a capsize. It could be a nice boat to move up to for spinnaker work. I don't know the price but I'm guessing it is higher than $4,000.
