Well I guess I have not lived the 'high life' yet. I did not know you could get microwave-able packets of Basimati rice. I love Basimati rice and did not know you could make it (reasonably well) in a microwave, much less a pot of boiling water. I thought you had to put water into the rice.
Dylan Winter's home cooking at it's finest. The closest equivalent you might be able to find here (in the US) would be a can of beef chili and instant rice as I'm pretty sure they only have canned chicken curry in the UK. The Brits do love their Chicken Tikka Masala, don't they.
I'm quite certain that our own TDW uses at least 2 burners to make the same meal from slightly fresher ingredients. Pretty sure he likes his vino and other finery such that canned curry would be beyond the pale. Michael on Sequitur on the other hand is a true gourmand.
