Not much to go on there -- any other available info?
There are two 1979 53'ers currently listed on YachtWorld: One's in Italy, the other's in Greece.
Blue Water Yacht Builders (formerly a yard in Taiwan) built several sailboat models using the Vagabond name. The most commonly seen ones are the 42' and 47' ketches. They also built a 39' sloop/cutter, available in both a pilothouse and trunk cabin configuration. Perhaps they also built a few 53'ers; but after looking at the photos of the two currently listed for sale, I'm not sure they came out of the BYB yard.
Thanks for the help. You have found the 2 i'm intrested in , and what I,m looking for is build quality info and sail keeping qualitys . Pretty much any thing I can get.
Like I mentioned, I'd be a little surprised if these two came out of the Blue Water yard; the lines just don't look right.
You might want to send a couple of e-mails to the brokers asking for specific details on the two boats -- the worst that can happen is that they ignore your request.
Some specifics that come to mind:
> Hull ID numbers
> Builder's company name/location
From there, you may be able to get a better idea of where to focus your info search.
Ok thanks , I will try the brokers again . On that note, something appears funny or confusing about the listings , they appear to be listed as 2 different vessels but they are the same interior shots .
Could very well be the same boat, but with two different listing brokers each posting their own YachtWorld entries -- the Hull ID would confirm that...
