Fallard, if the only problem with your current radio is a cheesy bulkhea connector, check out some of the electronics parts houses (Mouser, Newark Electronics, DigiKey) for a heftier bulkhead connector. As long as it has enough pins, the rest is just a matter of cutting and soldering Or crimping. So it won't be standard, no big deal unless you have to replace it again. (And you can order a spare connector against that chance.)
