Our Pacific Seacraft 34 has an old Apelco 530 fishfinder
on it. The display is fading fast and only part of the display works. In hot weather we need to put a wet cloth over it to cool it down before we can read the display. We only use it depth soundings.
We want to replace it with a simple, high quality depth sounder. We only need to read depth. We do want a chart plotter or multifunction display because we are on strict energy diet and have no plans to add capacity. We just want a simple, low power high quality display and a high quality transducer. It would be nice if the depth sounder was NMEA 2000 compliant - just in case we decide to connect it to something else one day.
What do you think we should look at? Our marina is a Raymarine
shop, but we are open to ideas.
