I still use my pressurized alcohol
stove. The danger comes at light-off; it is too easy to put too much alcohol in the warming pan. If you do you get a huge flame that could catch the curtains on fire. Once these alcohol
stoves are going, they are as safe as anything else that makes open flames in your boat. I asked an old salt to show me how when I first bought the boat and that worked out well.
