Thank you for that advice. I intend to create that wood GIN pole and get everything ready to test. I have a
winch, tie down straps, 2X4 - 8 ft. and all the galvenized nut and bolts I think I need to make mine. Ill take pics and post the finished product.
I decided to rent a storage spot for my boat. This means that I don't have the urgency to take the mast down to get it ready for trailering the boat home. I can leave the mast up while we take it out of the water and drive it to my storage spot right there at the marina. This also eliminated the daily launch fee that I would have to pay each time I launched the boat. So, in essence, the cost to store my new (to me) boat was just a few bucks more.
Less than 12 hours til LAUNCH time. I am SOOOOO excited - and nervous.
