As I said, it's a catalytic
heater. It uses a sort of catalytic converter to convert CO into CO2, and the CO2 is kept at safe levels by ensuring an adequate oxygen supply. The effect is similar to what happens in modern car exhaust systems. I'm not saying it's harmless and to abandon caution. I'm saying it's safer than a lot of other options.
