I think it has often been said by folks in the business that "Charlie Morgan never built a bad boat." And from a relative point of view, isn't every cruiser really a mediocre performer, when compared to a performance boat? Cruiser, may need to carry four or six souls and an extra ton or two of provisions. A hundred gallons of water? 800+ pounds, right there. Fifty gallons of fuel? Woops, there goes the boot stripe underwater.
So, mediocre performance. That's a very relative thing, and a lot of high performance boats would be damned hard pressed to carry the payload of a serious cruiser. Or to have enough cabin space for a pool table and jacuzzi, which the real cruisers certainly require. :-)
