Re: Winter Storage - City Island or Port Washington?

Last Saturday was a brisk wind, practice raising/lowering your main in more benign conditions using your autopilot...will give you time
to deal with a snag until you set up your lazy jacks like you want.
Suggest don't force sails up/down/in/out with winch.
If Port Wash. is convenient for you and looking for a less expensive yard that you can do own work, talk to Gulfway think @42 ft(but they want to paint bottom).
I will be taking my boat tomorrow from my mooring to one of their slips where I'll sail out of for another 6 weeks or so.
You have a great cover and will be able to do a lot of work over the
winter with it on. I have a similar cover and in the dead of winter if
there is some sun out it is comfortable to work. Sometimes with
propane heater(vented) sometimes not.
I made a frame out of PVC piping years ago and is real cheap and
easy to install, should be pictures on sailnet or cruisersforum or
PM me if interested.
Best
