Yes, seems to me he'll want to get a new turnbuckle up there so his drum can ride lower where it will be better aligned with furling lines and loads.

The anchor will need to be moved. Is there room for the furler drum up there - he might need to rethink where the drum is completely.
Let's hope he took measurements, and has a receipt.

Lessons learned are opportunities earned.
