But then you'd have to get your forestay length right on the money.

I ran into those height issues when installing our Alado in the spring. I had already installed a new forestay with turnbuckle (beautifully made for me by SN member Knothead). I then wanted the drum to go over the top of the turnbuckle to put the drum in about the same height as my old Hood unit, but the plastic spacer hole wasn't big enough. The Alado rep suggested I just drill the spacer out to the diameter needed, which worked nicely. I spent an embarassing amount of my installation time cogitating on height and positioning.
