OK, I'm not too smart. By the wording it seemed that you wanted a dinghy as your primary vessel. Upon re-reading your post I think you have a big boat and you're wondering about a dinghy to keep in the davits.
My send answer is that I am happy with our inflatable. I bought the cheapest 10' Chinese made PVC dinghy that I could get, a Zodiac Zoom. When it gets stolen I want to lose a $700.00 dinghy, not a $7000.00 one.
There are compromises on all things boating. The inflatable is a compromise that I'm happy with.
