Thanks guys. The one I have in mind is on the island and no teak deck. It sure would look good with one though with that flush deck.
I have always liked the look of those highly cambered flush decks from that era - Heath's varnished 'Morning Clouds', the 'America Janes' and others.
The names - PJ, Maas etc. speak for themselves re: quality.
The boat has a pretty low asking price with a near new diesel as well.
I'm mainly concerned that it might have a "North Sea" sized rig which would be less than ideal around here. I think it was pretty unsuccessful as a racer but the IOR was in such flux then that it may not mean that much - that often simply meant it was too conservative (read seaworthy) - plenty of S&S designs back then weren't very successful racers as well for that reason..
