Pearson 27 - Standard Horizon 190i Mounting

Which Pearson 27 do you have? They made two models in the 80's. I have the earlier Pearson 27 Triton that they made from '84-'85. They switched to another 27 design after that for a few years with a more spacious V-berth/setee design. Mine does not have a pedestal guard either. Like you, I decided it was too expensive and would take up valuable cockpit space in an already small area. Also as an inland lake sailor a chart plotter is unnecessary.

Maybe you could mount it on the starboard cockpit coaming. If it is the same model as mine that area is a blank space. My instruments are mounted on the port coaming.
