egads, now that is a seriously minimal pedestal.

You might need to screw something to the front and build a mount off it. If so it will be used as a hand hold so make sure it's robust.

Depending on handiness you can take strap aluminum (1 inch wide, 3/6 thick) and bend it around a plywood semi circle - fasten it to the pedestal bottom on those two bolt heads - make your own pedestal guard. Near the top you'll need to tie it in to the pedestal with screws or it won't hold up.
