Just in the planning stage, but I like to have all logistics worked out before undertaking any project.

What are thoughts about offshore vs ICW? What about time underway in average conditions? Other tips and tidbits?
The IWC is a long slow trip. A friend of mine did that trip in 5 days and only ran aground three times! The offshore trip is pretty easy. Keep a close eye on the oil rigs at night. We bought our boat in Kemah, kept it there for some work, and then moved to Port A. We did it in the winter and it was cold at night.

Difference between a power boater and a sailor out on the water: A power boater is going some place special, a sailor is already there.
