Since I am over 50 I am not in the target market and as much as I would like a good performer I would also like something I can spend a long weekend in sailing the San Juans & Gulf Islands of the Pacific Northwest. The Columbia 30 is nothing more than a glorified daysailor/sportboat. It is not condusive to spending several days on in coastal waters hopping from marina to marina or anchoring out among the islands. Some of us expect a bit more from a 30 foot boat in this price range. It is merely a racing toy and expensive at that. A Gemini 105MC or Telstar 28 or Corsair 28 would be more fun for similar cost.
