I'm a member of a Sailing Club in Pensacola (they are awesome). Today when I wrapped up the day on a Catalina 22, I mentioned to the guy working that I can't wait to take a boat out overnight. His response was, "Just go ahead and enroll in the 103&104 combo for $1400 (or so) bucks and it'll be no problem."

I was looking at several used 27 footers on Craigslist along the western coast of Florida for under $3000.

One could blow $1500 on a weeklong livaboard class or put it toward a boat and just sleep on it overnight whenever one wants.

I'd say there are two little 'me's arguing with each other on my shoulders, but I don't feel much of a conflict over this one.
