PSC 31 (reluctantly) for sale
I've been a serial boat restorer for the past 10 years and, somewhat to my surprise, I find that I've run out of steam. This is partly due to the fact that my sailing and restoration buddy (my son) has been working overseas for much of this year and I'm tired of working alone. At any rate, here's a chance to pick up a 1990 31 with most (85-90 percent) of the hard and expensive work already done. The boat had been a live-aboard when I bought her two years ago. She was in fine shape structurally and mechanically, but needed a lot of cosmetics and gear upgrades. In the past two years, I've spent over $10,000 on parts and gear and hundreds of hours of my time.

The exterior teak has been mostly cleaned up and has five coats of Cetol. Most of the interior teak has been cleaned and varnished. Last winter, I wet sanded, compounded, polished and waxed the hull. It looks close to new.
What is left to do? I think she needs new upholstery, but she'll obviously sail fine as is. The cabin sole needs refurbishing. Some of the interior teak still needs attention. Ditto the exterior grad rails. I started, but did not finish, replumbing the waste system. The domestic hot water is connected to shore power only; it needs to be reconnected to the engine (the hoses are there, but I can't guarantee that they don't leak). The batteries could use a decent box and hold down. I never got around to spending the time on the deck to make it look as good as the hull.
