I just brought a 60 footer to Newport from Holland MI. Through four lakes, the canals, the Hudson R, and Long Island Sound I didn't put a paper chart on the nav table. I've done the same coming up from the VI to New England, too. I find the iPad running iNavX to be an excellent tool and when I get my own boat, I will be trying to figure a way to at least make the iPad the only instrument at the nav station.
