I still remember my first time ever on a sailing boat and having the helmsman tell me to grab than line and pull it in. Oh my, now that was a gotcha moment as she healed over and took off.
PB .... on a windless weekend we simply motor to our favourite anchorage and spend the time "floating in one spot". As much as I love sailing I equally love just doing the water rat thing. (then again if you meant lying becalmed in any kind of swell with the boom crashing and the sails slatting then oh yes, that is misery beyond description.)
