Re: The Cruising Community
I doubt we will stay much if at all in Key West. We will probably reside a bit in Marathon. We like Key West, but about 500, we have the kids out of there. It is a better joint for adults than kids. I know there are exceptions to that, but its just our opinion. We do love the butterfly consortium though. Ever done that? I thought it would be a total waste, but I was shocked at how cool that was.
Anyways, does not mean we won't get together. I just may come in via a car or not stay long in KW. If I was without kids though, it would be tough to leave it because Marathon can be pretty sleepy!!! Not to mention, someone has to teach Gary how to play chopsticks on the keyboard.
On the flip side, if you want to come to the Tortugas, let me know. Would be love to catch up. Looks like we have quite a few boats going... or at least that say they are going. That will make it a lot of fun!!!
Well, I agree, it's an adult playground. This place Dantes on the dock's by the Half Shell is very family freindly on the weekday's. Big pool with a water fall and table service poolside, we should do lunch/ cocktail hour or something. It's nice place to make home base for the day if you come down from Marathon. Get a table, let the kid's splash around, and you can run around town and get some chores done, it's what we do when family with kid's visit. As for the Fort, my sailboat is in restoration mode, just got the mast up and will be painting the deck's on my time off, Wife work's full time. Might be able to run my Dive boat out there for a visit. ( not very sailnetty), we'll see, What are the dates again? Def. want to go. We take the ferry out there to camp sometimes as well, so we'll see. We rafted up out there for a whole summer when I was 13 and It's one of my fondest memory's. We like the butterfly place to. It's great the first 3 times then it get's kind of sleepy. Either way I'll PM my # when I get back to land.
