Anyway I just thought I'd post what I did to the transom of WindyWay. Included is 1) an aft traveller, 2) The stern Pulpit itself. 3) Boarding Ladder, 4) Cup holders, 5) Port & Stbd mounts for the crane, & finally 6) Life ring & support. I may also put in corner seats if I get enthused enough.
All the stainless tubing was from recycled parts from other boats. The top of the aft rail was originally a frame for a bimini top, I lucked out cause it had the exact curvature of the transom. The hand rail for the ladder was part of a diver tank bracket assy. It took MASSIVE amounts of thought to build this I just had too many requirements. A compromise had to be made for the aft traveller, I would have liked it to be longer but the ladder entrance had to go on the port side. The nice thing about the traveller is the original cables that rub on the tiller handle are gone as the traveller is above the tiller...no more interference!
As a side benefit (pun intended) The aft rail allowed a second set of safety lines up on the foredeck. I just wasn't comfortable with kids up there & a large 2ft gap in the lifelines.
