Re: Plants on your boat

We had two hanging planters with lettuce growing in them from Florida as far as the SE part of French Polynesia. Very nice to have some fresh greenery every couple of days and we were in places where there were no stores. Then we were knocked down. Bad enough to have a cockpit full of water - we had a cockpit full of mud. I was forward adding lashings to the dink when it happened. By the time I got back to the cockpit my wife was bailing like mad with the first thing that came to hand - one of the planters with several drain holes in the bottom. The holes did not seem to matter very much, she was getting a lot of water back where it belonged. BTW, we did not replace the planters.

Heading back to Lake Ontario for this summer. Relatively few stops along the way from Grenada. Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Martin (must have something to do with the French food), then Bermuda, New England and up the Hudson/Erie Canal. We were going to go via Newfoundland and Labrador but June remembered that one of the kids is getting married this summer - details, details!
