The woodwork on this doesn't concern me. It's the fiberglass. From what I've read and heard the rotted knees can be cut out and replaced. I can do that. But then it all has to be bedded in with fiberglass. My biggest concern is making sure the bedding is bonded to the existing structure. That, and not dying from the epoxy fumes!
It's pretty straight forward, I've gutted a large portion of our 28. Replace the whole bulkhead because from the picture you've posted, they're toast. Take the old ones out in a way that allows you to use them for templates. Once the new ones are back in place they get glassed to the hull. Long as the surfaces are sanded & clean, it'll stick.
Wear a respirator w/ a carbon filter to minimize the buzz of epoxy fumes
