We have our Endeavour in a yard there and sailed our Mac there twice. Here is a link to those 2 trips, one of which ended up over in the Keys...

We don't plan on moving there, but if we did that would be the place we would end up.



The red line above is the route we took from the boatyard to Pelican Bay about 25 miles and there is deep water (by FL standards) in almost the whole bay on that route and also east over to Punta Gorda. We like the area and also the west coast south to 10,000 Islands and the Everglades and on to the Keys. We haven't gone north from there yet. You have more or less protected water in the whole bay and then the Gulf is very close.

Lots of homes on canals, but a number are not deep enough for any kind of draft.
