You should get up to NY and see your boat before you spend any more money. Line up a mechanic for a warm day to clean up and start the engine.

If it does not run, go home and wait a few weeks, then start a SN thread to see if you can get someone to pay YOU the $750 and you'll only be out a thousand or so.

If the engine does run, arrange your transportation to TX. There's a good chance you'll end up putting $20-28K into this boat (assuming all DIY repairs, not yard work) and the boat will never be worth more than $10k (salvage title and all). several regards...
