Graduating from a 9' sail dink some 26 yrs ago to a 27 footer this coming season will be daunting. It's easier to list the similarities than the differences. They both float, have a couple of sails and were/are both FRP. That's about it! Other than being larger, heavier and much more hardware and lines on a magnitude of epic proportions...same thing.
I plan to assume control [of the new, bigger boat] the same way, though; by s-l-o-w-l-y 'feeling' the boat and first learning how to stop. I have a bud that soloed a Hunter 34 for years that has offered to ride along and gimme some pointers.

ASA??? Mebbe! but later Mo' money better spent outfitting
