If you have a Monitor you could try this.

As has been described by others, we hooked up an ST1000 tiller pilot (actually an Autohelm 800 initially) to our Monitor wind vane. This solution works while sailing or motoring. Hans at Scanmar says the prop wash while motoring is hard on the Monitor but we haven't noticed any problems.

We upgraded our installation two years ago to include the Raymarine S100 remote control so we can tweak the course without having to push the buttons on the ST1000. We also put a three-bladed prop on which reduces the prop turbulence on the Monitor.
