I bought a used Beneteau 361 in late summer. When I went to reef the main during high winds this fall, I discovered that the previous owner had rigged the reefing
line as the outhaul -- and that there was no outhaul. The
rigging book that came with the boat shows no outhaul, either. I've got plenty of extra sheaves at the gooseneck, turning blocks at the mast step and extra rope clutches in the cockpit to
rig an outhaul. Any advice on how much purchase (3:1, 4:1) I should
rig? Any advice on easy ways to install this in the boom?
