In the yard due to crowding you would be hard pressed to even keep a ladder chained to the boat to do DIY tasks there packed so tight

In my area there is limited room at all the yards so there fairly good about working with you take it home

The mast has to come down no matter where it stays

It is PITA to keep it on top of the boat and its faster for the yard to keep it on there racks so it ends up cheaper in my case to store the mast there
