Two month Barnacle Growth PNW
I'm getting ready to launch my boat hopefully next week. My concern is that currently there is no bottom paint on her. The entire bottom has been covered with an epoxy barrier coat. Current forecasts for the next little while in the Vancouver area have the temperature highs at plus 7°C or 44°F. I'm worried that if I paint her now the paint might not adhere properly. My plan is to launch her now and then in two months or so when the temperature is more appropriate haul her out again and paint the bottom.
Is this a good idea or will I be spending extra days in the yard scrapping off barnacles come spring time? And will said barnacles ruin the epoxy barrier coat?
