Re: Interior Painting ????

I completly repainted inside and used a white topside boat paint single part. Some areas were previously painted and most were not. I painted all acessible voids including locker areas and the engine compartment. Just followed directions on the can. didn't have to remove the old paint. No problems after maybe 8 years. I like the hard gloss, easier to clean and maintain especially around the engine. I like white as it makes the interior a lot brighter especially in locker areas like my deep bench lockers where it's a lot easier to find things against a white background. I re-did all my interior wood, teak and mahogany in regular gloss varnish from a flat oil finish. Again things are a lot brighter. With varnish it takes lotsa' coats. Talking with pros they varnish pretty soon after coats, not the 24 hours. It's important to have a warm temperature, sand well, be methodical and wipe with a tack rag to keep the dust out. good luck
