I've always gone across the bar at the two yellow range marks. Never had less than 5 feet under my keel (7 feet actual).
I always go across the bar, generally a little further north; at low tide I have seen as little as 4'6". South of the range mark, Chuckles is correct, except at very low tide.
There is some very shallow water inside the harbor, mostly well marked but stay close to the marinas around the outside to be safe. Not a hazard, just something to watch.
