Re: Chesapeake Bay Eats

Went to Mike's Crab House on Riva Road Saturday for lunch.

I have no idea why I hadn't gone here sooner.

I had the fried oyster sandwich and the wife had the crabcake, both acceptable. I prefer the fried oysters on plain white bread but the potato hamburger roll was OK.

The French fries where golden brown and delicious!! (GBD)

The cream o' crab was very thick and the veg crab was also well prepared.

We happened to stumble upon .50 raw oyster special and took advantage.

Our waiter was efficient and businesslike, which I prefer.

We are going back!!

The menu is more extensive than I thought a regular joint like this would have. Sometimes that's good, sometimes it's more ambitious than they can handle. Time will tell.

Most of the tables have a view of the S.River and the bar is smoke free. I suppose most if not all are these days but there was no lingering effect of the bad old days.
