that study (the study
) measures wear in ppm on a ball bearing which is moved on a track about a million times for each additive. The bearing is then put in an electron microscope and wear measured. There is a huge difference between brands of additives and the best ones if used in a marine diesel would reduce wear on injectors and injectorpumps / fuelpumps by quite a bit over raw low sulfur fuel. Interesting that regular old 2-Cycle TC-W3 Engine Oil, used as an additive did pretty darn good in this test!!
