I have no idea how they are today, but when I was in college in the early 1970's I used to rent small boats from Castle Harbor Boat rentals in Dinner Key. They used to be pretty reasonable back then and kept the boats up reasonably well. I am sure that the old 'Capt' who ran the place is long gone, but perhaps his daughter Jinxy who ran day to day operations is still around. I saw they still have a phone number so who knows!
