Boating Author Heads To Miami To Sell, Sign Books Plus Present 2 Seminars

Robin G. Coles of The Nautical Lifestyle Shares Secrets for Buying and Enjoying a Boat, On Board Medical Emergencies, and Keeping it Fun.

Boating writer Robin G. Coles will be signing copies of her book, Boating Secrets: 127 Top Tips to Help You Buy and/or Enjoy Your Boat at Strictly Sail Miami Boat Show in Miami, FL Feb. 14 - 18.

The author will be available for book signings in the Author's Corner from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

At 4:45 p.m. on Saturday Coles can be found in Tent C presenting "Keeping it Fun". On Monday at 1:00 p.m. in Tent B Coles will be presenting "On Board Emergencies." Both of these seminars are part of the Seminar Series sponsored by Blue Water Sailing.

Based on interviews with 11 marine industry experts, Coles' book provides answers to questions on a wide range of subjects, including how to buy the perfect boat, getting insured and financed, what's involved in a marine survey, renting a boat, customizing electrical panels, search and rescue, handling heavy weather, digital selective calling, automatic identification systems, multi-hull boats, how to make a living as a professional sailor and a bonus chapter on how to sell a boat.

Being in a relationship is hard enough, add boating to the mix and it's not always fun for the gal any more. Men, join Coles, if you dare to hear what women have to say from her recent survey and what they want from their guy while boating. The answers will surprise you.

"On board medical emergencies is no laughing matter," says Coles, "especially when you don't have access to 911". During this presentation Robin G. Coles will be going over what to do in a medical emergency when you're on the water and don't have access to 911. She'll go over the importance of float plans, what happens when you place a May Day call, DSC, the difference between sea sickness and co2 poisoning, and preventing sunstroke. Plus a whole lot more.

"I have always had a fascination for the ocean, and I took up sailing 10 years ago," said Coles. "In the book I have tried to cover all the basics as well as some more advanced boating topics for old salts. It's not intended to replace classroom instruction, but I hope it will educate and entertain readers through amusing stories and anecdotes."

Coles is the owner of http://thenauticallifestyle.com and a passionate marine enthusiast and sailor who has interviewed countless industry experts. She has visited, written about and photographed hundreds of marine ports around the world. She has also authored a newspaper column and a variety of articles on boating and non-boating subjects.

At Strictly Sail Miami, Coles will announce her newest book.

Strictly Sail Miami will take place at the Miamirina in Bayside Feb. 14 - 18. The Seminar Series is sponsored by Blue Water Sailing.
