Clothing for sailing in cool or cold weather.

I have only sailed in tropical weather, barefoot.

What kind of gear do I need for air temps between 30-70 water 40-55?

Do I need sailing specific clothes or will my winter outdoor sports clothing work well, like north face snowpants(waterproof). Snow gloves and hats. And a variety of outdoor brand winter wear.

I like clothes and like clothes specific to a sport, but I foo already have some good winter kit. But I see people wearing some really co sailing bibs and jacket and do I need those? If so do they sell them at stores or do you have I get them online.

FYI I do have a Tilley hat and fingerless gloves!
