Very True! It all depends on the wind direction and knowing the charted depths immediately surrounding the boat. If everything 'clicks' the solution is to heel as much as possible and try to make a 180 turn. You do need some moderate wind (from the right direction) to make it work. In another instance, I've used the heeling approach while motoring a 5 foot draft boat through 4.5 foot depths in and out of the approach to Spring Cove Marina in Rock Hall. Looks a little dare-devilish negotiating that channel with the full jib unfurled.
