It really does depend on your maintenance schedule. If you wax the hull, then you do not want to use any dish-wash detergent, especially Dawn or simple green. Dawn is a recommended stripping agent for most waxes. I think for value it would be hard to beat car wash soap, but it is not really designed for same dirt. Also if you buy the larger containers of soap you will likely get much better prices.
