We've found them at various RV places, Home Hardwares, but they are becoming harder to find. Not SS, but they last several seasons at least. I think there are SS versions available, and a friend built a bunch out of SS based on the photo so if you know a metal worker that's another option.
We've been using the same stainless steel toaster--from REI for $1.50--since the mid-1960's. Easy and works great. Especially good for Bagles and/or English Muffins. They are still available at Camping/RV Outfitters albeit at slightly higher prices.
