... most often there are few options unless you have a custom tank made to fit.. Under the V berth if there's room there is usually close to the head (good) but if any issues develop close to your berth (bad).
The idea I like is to mount the holding tank in a cabinet in the 'wasted space' up under the deck behind the head.. that means short hose runs, and the option/ability to drain by gravity in open water, and/or good suction feed for the macerator.
