Re: Radar options

Just did the final spec sheet on new boat. Went with the Ray HD 48m with the smaller dome. It has less draw and weighs less. It's going on the mast so mounted on a self leveling mount to make up for the smaller band width. As regards chartplotters - put in several. Any one of them can serve as "master". Can see output from any input on any chartplotter or the smart phone/I pad. Redundant redundancy. I think new networking boat systems make dedicated single use screens unneccessary. Remember at looking the north up green haze under a hood and having no idea what was going on.
P.S.- still have a meteoman, sextant, sight reduction tables lead line etc. but amazed by the new technologies.
