My buddy Steve (seeyalatermoonglow here on SN) posted a thread about these Bushnell permafocus binocs a few years ago and they are the pair I keep in the cockpit.

They aren't great binocs, but for a quick view of something one handed they are great. No focusing and at $60 if they go over the side it's not the end of the world. Surprisingly good optics too, but they don't work well for close in objects (inspecting the spreader lights, etc). We also carry a pair of Fujis with compass (Laurie hates them) and Canon stabilized which are incredible but go through batteries like crazy (we use rechargeable).
