The main will definitely help. Next time throw it up, trim it, and you'll be able to point...and get right back to that ramp.

The most important thing is that you got out there and did it. Keep at it. It just gets more and more fun.

PS - It looks like you were gybing (turning the stern through the wind) - not tacking (turning the bow through the wind). Be aware of the difference when you do get that main up.
