French boats use a tinned braided copper from the shrouds to the keel bolts which is not ABYC compliant. On C&C 99's they use a solid copper conductor from a shroud rod to the fuel tank and then to a keel bolt and this is not ABYC compliant either.
There is little consistency or compliance in this area.If you name a specific boat you'll get a more specific answer.
