I agree, you can't throw the crew to the sharks unless there is some evidence they were negligent. I'm not aware of too many crews that are paid to stand guard 24/7, particularly at its home base.

Its hard to know what the exact damage is, with all the rumors, but I'm willing to bet it will far exceed 100 Gs. A yard sees an 82 ft Oyster with insurance and the estimate will cost 100 grand . I am aware of a local 60+ ft oyster that needed its mast repaired and I'm told the bill was a quarter million. I don't know the boat intimately, but understand the mast is some high tech material.
